Assets have several uses in C1Risk, which can be tailored to your needs.

The Asset type of "companies" can be used if you have several business units, subsidiaries, or acquisitions which you need to manage internal controls, evidence, risks, and test results for.

There are several ways to create an Asset.

Method 1 (this method will only allow you to create an asset which is asset type companies.  Should you wish to create other asset types, see Method 2 and 3 below):

1) Go to the left hand navigation and select Enterprise Management.  Then select Assets.

2) Choose the 3 dot menu in the upper right corner and select +Add New

3) The following screen will appear to create your asset, which by default will be company type.

The following fields are required:

a. Name

b. Primary (contact)

4) Linked Assets is an important field in this screen.  You can link any asset which has already been created to this asset.  This can be an asset that is asset type companies, processes, or vendors.  This is important because it is a way to ensure that all of the assets that you have created are properly linked to each other for risk management, internal controls, evidence, and test results.

Hit save after all necessary fields have been input.

Method 2 (You can create any asset type with this method):

1.Click the Compliance Management option in the left navigation menu.  Three options will appear below it-  Internal Controls, Evidences, and Document Requests.  Select Internal Controls.

2. Go to the upper right corner of the screen and select the 3 dot menu.  You can select +Add New, which will create a new Internal Control or you can also select +Copy from CTL if you prefer to clone an already existing Internal Control for your new Internal Control.

3. If you wish to create a new Internal Control with no prior dataselect +Add New

4.  The following information is required:

  1. Control Name

  2. Primary (contact)

Hit save after all necessary fields have been input.

5. If an Asset has already been created which you wish to link to, select the magnifying glass to select the Asset. If you do not have an Asset created yet, then select   to create an Asset.

6. If you create an Asset, you must select an Asset Type.  There are three drop down options for Asset Type.

The options for Asset Type are:

Companies- This can be used for a single company, multiple companies, entities, business units, divisions, subsidiaries, or acquisitions.  If you need to track risks, internal controls, evidence, or test results for each, you can do so by creating different companies asset type for each.

Processes- There are many processes that you will need to manage testing and evidence for.  Some processes are shared between multiple companies and multiple tests/certification.  You can create processes asset type so that they can be shared amongst each other, rather than creating the same process multiple times.  This allows you to test a process, obtain evidence, and share the same process across your companies.

Vendors- There are multiple vendors that you will want to manage risks for.  You can keep track of the risk management for each vendor by having asset type vendors set up for each.

7. The following information is required when you create an asset:

  1. Select an Asset Type

  2. Input an Asset Name

  3. Select a primary contact for the Asset

8. Hit save and your Asset will be created with a unique ID.

Method 3 (You can create any asset type with this method):

  1. Click the Compliance Management option in the left navigation menu.  Three options will appear below it-  Internal Controls, Evidences, and Document Requests.  Go to Evidences on the left side navigation menu and click on it. You can create an evidence request by going to the upper right corner to hit the 3 dot menu and selecting +Add New

  1. The following information is required:

  1. Evidence Name

  2. Primary (contact)

  3. Evidence Start Date

3.  Follow the instructions in method 2 above to create an asset and hit save.
